King's donated run-in
has been delivered!

Last December, in lieu of sending individual Christmas gifts to our customers, King donated a 12'x16'  run-in shed to a very deserving horse rescue:
Angel Acres Horse Haven in Glenville, PA.

Heavy winter snow and a very muddy spring delayed delivery, but it is now in place and being used by several rescued horses.

Begun in 2004, Angel Acres has saved and placed more than 250 horses.  They rescue and rehabilitate abused, abandoned and slaughter-bound horses; they have also established a program to feed and support horses whose owners are in economic hardship.

Congratulations to Jo Diebel (president) and Angel Acres --

We thank them for all their
wonderful work!

For more information about Angel Acres and its horses, see their website --

About the shed:
This is
King's new saltbox style, with a high pitched roof and an extended overhang to provide additional shelter.

Lined with 2"x8"
tongue & groove southern yellow pine planking, it is as rugged and durable as it is beautiful, and will provide many years of comfort for the horses of Angel Acres.

King-sponsored rider is 3rd at Pony Club Nationals!

Congratulations to Rebecca Light and her Thoroughbred mare After Thought!

The King-sponsored pair placed 3rd out of 96 in the Three Foot Division at the Pony Club Nationals in Lexington, KY.

Rebecca, 17, is a student at Cedar
Crest High School in Lebanon, PA.
She made her horse show debut at
the age of three in lead-line and currently rides with the Manada Creek Pony Club, where she helps to mentor the younger riders.  She also works part-time in a tack shop to earn money for her mare’s care and show expenses.

Rebecca and After Thought (affectionately called Remmy) have been together only a year.  Remmy was rescued from a trip to the meat auction and, soon after, she became Rebecca’s new show prospect.

Rebecca and Remmy finished qualifying for the Nationals at a Maryland regional event in mid-June.  Despite the handicap of having her arm in a cast, Rebecca guided Remmy to three clear rounds.

The cast came off
in time for Kentucky, but Rebecca had to wear a brace while competing.

Like the Olympics, the Pony Club Nationals in Kentucky are held only once every four years.  All competitors have to qualify for an invitation, assuring that only the best horses and riders from across the nation will be vying for the division awards.

Rebecca plans to continue showing Remmy to an "A" level and she will be attending Lebanon Valley College, majoring in psychology, with a minor in business.
