Round Pens and Covered Walkers
Round Pens
All horse farms, no matter the size or discipline, can benefit from the addition
of a good round pen . . .
An essential tool for the professional training center, round pens are very versatile
They provide a safer, more controlled environment than an arena, making them a
perfect place for early schooling, advanced training, retraining and problem solving
and for general exercise.
They are labor savers and can provide additional turn-out space.
In short, they're one of the best investments a horse farm can make!
King is a dealer for Merry-Go-Round Pens, a 12-sided building with a steep
roof pitch made to resemble a vintage carousel building. The high open roof inside
provides unlimited opportunity for anything from longing to schooling over jumps.
Available in three sizes -- 52 ft, 62 ft and 70 ft in diameter, this building can also
serve to cover your Euro walker, or to form the structure for a round barn with
perimeter stalls and a center work area.
The Merry-Go-Round pens are typically built in a pavilion style -- even with open sides,
the deep overhangs help to keep the rain and snow outside the riding surface -- or they
can also be fully enclosed.
As with all King-built structures, there are many choices for architectural finish and
detail, including siding, roofing, windows, cupolas or stone work. Also, you have the
option to include a viewing deck or an enclosed viewing room.

Pavilion style, with metal roofing Great clearance - great views
But round pens don’t have to be round – if you’re on a tight budget, we can build a square
building, i.e. 60 ft x 60 ft, and “round” the interior corners with riding guard planking.
Ask your area representative to help assess your needs.
Covered Walkers
Another great labor saver, especially for a busy training or boarding facility . . .
A walker will help to keep horses in condition, combat stall boredom, provide a
warm-up and cool down before and after training sessions. It also provides a spot
for horses to get out for some exercise when the weather’s bad, or when the
grass needs a rest.
